When we surveyed employees back in November, the number one interest expressed was learning about professional growth opportunities and career path advancement within our companies. So we talked with folks in HR, IS and various other groups to get the down low on employee education opportunities. Here’s what we found.

It’s a new year: your benefits have changed, or you may discover you need to modify the amount of taxes withheld from your paychecks. Here’s what to do:
Your first 2016 paycheck reflected your new employee benefits for the year, from health insurance to 401(k) contributions and more. Please double-check your paystub to ensure that your benefits are correct. If not, let Arrowhead’s HR team know.

Planning on taking some time off? You'll need an up-to-date balance on your PTO. Just log into Attendance on Demand and click on the Benefits tab at the top. You'll see your PTO activity and balance listed at the top of page. This is also where you submit your requests for PTO. Don't forget that each year we all get a floating holiday. Make sure you use it, because it cannot be rolled over to the next calendar year or cashed out at termination.

In the summer of 2014, Brown & Brown consolidated its existing Programs Division, known as National Programs. Arrowhead's management team was honored to take on the task of uniting the companies around the country. The goal - Become a unified organization so that our combined size can make a bigger impact in the marketplace. Facilities has a hard job. They have the tough task of reminding us - business professionals - to clean up our messes in the break rooms, don't steal office supplies and to not use small electrical appliances so we avoid fires. No one wants to be the bearer of those messages! That's why we thought we'd have a little fun and create helpful commercials to remind us of these basic guidelines around the office.

In 2016, we'll be six years old - on Arrowhead’s social media, that is. Six years as an active presence on multiple social media outlets. Since the social media playing field is a tricky space for B2B companies like ours, we’re shifting our focus to promote more of our company’s culture. We think this is a great place for interested future coworkers to scout us out and see if working with us is a cultural fit.

Think about it: more than 11,000 producers and vendors will be receiving 1099 federal tax forms from us in just over a week. That's 11,000 potential phone calls, saying this producer changed her last name, or that one sold their book of business, or moved their office, or either lost or just didn't receive their 1099. It's enough to make you ignore the phone, right?
