Horse Friends, our teammate charity project
Jenny Rierson, Core Commercial referral underwriter, is a long-time volunteer atHorse Friends, a therapeutic riding program in Summerfield, NC. When Jenny notified her Core teammates about the charity and its needs, the team went to work raising money to help them out. Core Commercial leadership volunteered to match the donations. While funds are still trickling in, the results are heartfelt.
“Both children and adults with challenges ranging from muscular dystrophy or autism to Down Syndrome, PTSD or ADHD benefit from Horse Friends,” Jenny said. “Many are restricted in their movements during their daily lives, but riding a horse allows them to feel in control of a 1,100 pound animal when many other things in their lives are not in their control.”
