Let’s face it: we’re not cyborgs created for a single purpose. Instead, we humans juggle work/family/finances/friends/and a real, outside-of-work life.

And when there’s a wrinkle thrown into any of these – a financial setback, identity theft, long-term illness, relationship breakup – it can sometimes be difficult to cope. So where do you go when you don't know where to go? Start with your Employee Assistance Program (EAP). It provides free and confidential assistance for any issue that may concern you or your family members. Staffed by experienced masters level counselors, EAP has services available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, via phone, live chat, text, video conferencing and even face-to-face. A BDA clinician is available to provide support, help resolve problems and make referrals to the right resources. Many resources are availble on their website and via mobile apps as well. They can help with:

  • Depression or anxiety
  • Stress management
  • Family conflict or relationship problems
  • Financial or legal concerns
  • At-work issues
  • Addictions
  • And more

For more complex and/or longer-term problems, your BDA clinician can refer you to meet face-to-face with another professionally trained clinician and can suggest additional services within your health insurance benefits or to community resources/self-help groups.
